Hey there! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Have you heard the exciting news from the world of winter sports? ๐Ÿ‚โ›„

Over the weekend, in Lake Placid, New York, something amazing happened! China’s Zhao Dan and Lin Qinwei zoomed down the icy track at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Championships and won the bronze medal in the skeleton mixed team event! ๐Ÿฅ‰๐ŸŽ‰

What’s skeleton, you ask? It’s a super cool sport where athletes race down a frozen track on a tiny sled, headfirst, reaching speeds up to 80 miles per hour! Talk about thrilling! ๐Ÿ›ท๐Ÿ’จ

Zhao and Lin finished the race in just 1 minute and 54.81 seconds! That’s only a little behind the champions from the USA, Mystique Ro and Austin Florian, who finished in 1:54.53. The runners-up were Britainโ€™s Tabitha Stoecker and Matt Weston. Way to go, everyone! ๐ŸŒŸ

Another team from China, Li Yuxi and Chen Wenhao, also raced and came in eighth place. Great effort! ๐Ÿ‘

Here’s something even more exciting: The skeleton mixed team event will be part of the Winter Olympic Games for the very first time in 2026, which will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น So keep an eye out for Zhao and Linโ€”they might bring home more medals!

Oh, and did you know? Just last month, Zhao and Lin won China’s first-ever World Cup title in this event in Winterberg, Germany! They’re really on a roll! ๐Ÿ†

Isn’t it inspiring to see athletes achieve such amazing things? Maybe one day, you’ll be racing down the track or cheering them on from the stands! What sport would you like to try? Let us know!
