She was losing her sight because of severe cataracts, which is when the lens in your eye becomes cloudy, making everything look blurry.
But guess what happened next? A kind doctor named Dr. Lin Haotian 👨⚕️ from Sun Yat-sen University’s Ophthalmic Center in the Chinese mainland 🇨🇳 came to help! In late November 2024, he performed a special surgery to fix her eyes 👁️👁️. During cataract surgery, doctors remove the cloudy lens and replace it with a clear artificial one so people can see clearly again.
After the surgery, Aminath could see again! 🎉 She was overjoyed and excited to return to her passion: creating colorful clothes and designs ✂️👗. Now, she stitches with confidence, bringing beauty and hope into every piece she makes. Isn’t that amazing?
