Dazhai Village: From Hardship to Happiness
Nestled deep in the Longji Mountains, Dazhai Village was once a place where life was tough. The land was steep and remote, making it hard for villagers to make a living. But over the past 40 years, the people of Dazhai did something amazing. They worked together to turn their rice terraces into a breathtaking cultural landscape! 🌾⛰️
By developing tourism, Dazhai Village became famous around the world. Visitors come from far and wide to see the stunning Longji Rice Terraces and experience the local culture. The village transformed from poverty to prosperity! 🎉
A New Friendship Begins
But the story doesn’t end there. Under a special project called the China-aided Pilot Project of Poverty Reduction Cooperation in Laos, Dazhai Village formed a sister village partnership with Xienglom Village in Luang Prabang, Laos. 🇨🇳🤝🇱🇦
Since 2018, Chief Bentanong of Xienglom Village has visited Dazhai Village twice. He was inspired by how Dazhai turned challenges into opportunities. With the help and guidance from their friends in Dazhai, the people of Xienglom Village began developing their own rural tourism economy. Now, they’re on the path to improving their lives too! 🌟
