Hey everyone! Did you hear about China and Australia having a bit of a disagreement? Let’s find out what’s going on!
China recently held some naval exercises (that’s when ships practice maneuvers and drills) far out at sea. Australia said that these exercises were too close to their country and might not be safe.
But China’s Ministry of National Defense spokesperson, Wu Qian, said that the exercises were completely legal and far away from Australia’s coastline. He emphasized that they gave safety notices ahead of time, so everyone would know what was happening.
“Australia’s claims are unfounded,” Wu Qian said. He also mentioned that China is following international laws and common practices, and that the exercises wouldn’t affect anyone’s safety.
China feels that Australia is exaggerating the situation without good reason, and they are surprised and unhappy about it.
It’s important for countries to communicate and understand each other, especially when it comes to safety. Let’s hope that China and Australia can talk things out!
