Have you heard the exciting news? Chinese freeskier Xu Mengtao has been chosen to carry China’s flag at the closing ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province! 🇨🇳
Xu Mengtao is a veteran in freestyle skiing, and she’s super thrilled about this honor. She shared on social media: “It’s a great honor to be chosen as the flagbearer for the Chinese delegation at the closing ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games. I feel so proud and excited. The flagbearer must display the best aspects of Chinese athletes. I am filled with a sense of mission and accomplishment.”
This isn’t the first time Xu has carried the flag for China! She also did so at the Winter Olympics closing ceremony in Beijing in 2022. 🎿✨
At this year’s Winter Asiad, Xu competed in three events: women’s aerials, mixed team, and women’s synchro. She won two gold medals and one silver! 🥇🥇🥈 Isn’t that amazing?
