Guess what, winter sports fans! โ The Harbin Asian Winter Games just wrapped up, and officials from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) are super impressed! They say Harbin did such an amazing job that it sets a new standard for future games. ๐
Husain Al Musallam, the director general of the OCA, couldn’t stop praising Harbin. “Our athletes loved competing here and can’t wait to come back! ๐ The whole world saw how Harbin organized this huge event in just 18 months, with awesome facilities and thoughtful details for everyone,” he said.
He was especially amazed by the medical services. “I’ve been to all the Asian Games since 1982,” Al Musallam said. “But I’ve never seen such advanced technology in medical services! ๐ฅ”
Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, the first vice president of the OCA, shared some cool stats. The Harbin Winter Games had over 1,200 athletes from 34 countries and regionsโthe highest number ever! ๐๐๐ Even countries like Saudi Arabia and Cambodia joined in for the first time. How awesome is that?
During China’s eight-day Spring Festival holiday, Harbin had more than 12 million visits, which is a whopping 20.4% increase from last year! ๐งงโจ
Zhang Haihua, the vice mayor of Harbin, talked about how they made everyone feel welcome. “We had free mobile charging stations, ginger tea, and hot water everywhere!” they said. “We wanted to show Harbin’s hospitality.” โ๐ฑ
And the fun doesn’t stop now that the games are over! Harbin plans to keep the excitement going. “We’re encouraging venues to have flexible management and improve digital services,” Zhang added. “We’ll also host sports events in tourist spots and shopping areas to get more people into winter sports!” ๐๏ธ๐ฟ
Sounds like Harbin is the place to be for winter fun! Would you want to visit and maybe try some ice skating or skiing? โ๏ธโธ๏ธ
