Harbin Asian Winter Games Close with Exciting Wins and New Records! ❄️

The 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin have come to an amazing end! 🏁 On Friday night, Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, the first vice president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), declared the Games officially closed at the Harbin International Conference, Exhibition and Sports Center.

"This is truly a unique and charming part of China and the world – not only for the beauty of the city and the landscape but also for the warmth and friendliness of the local people," Mr. Fok said during the closing ceremony.

The Games, which started on February 7th, were the biggest ever! Over 1,200 athletes from 34 countries and regions across Asia came together to compete in thrilling winter sports events. πŸ‚β›ΈοΈπŸŽΏ

Historic Wins and Exciting Matches! πŸ…

On the final day, history was made! The Philippines won their first-ever gold medal in the Asian Winter Games. They defeated South Korea 5-3 in the men’s curling final. Way to go, Philippines! πŸŽ‰

China also had great victories. They beat Hong Kong, China 10-3 to win the bronze medal in men’s curling. In the women’s curling final, South Korea took the gold by winning over China 7-2. Japan earned the bronze medal.

In ice hockey, Kazakhstan and Japan defended their titles. Kazakhstan won the men’s championship, and Japan took the women’s title. It was a fantastic display of skill and teamwork! πŸ’

China did an amazing job, winning the most medals at the Games! They earned 32 gold, 27 silver, and 26 bronze medals. This ties the record for the most gold medals set by Kazakhstan in 2011.

South Korea came in second with 16 gold, 15 silver, and 14 bronze medals. Japan was third, taking home 10 gold, 12 silver, and 15 bronze medals.

This was the second time Harbin has hosted the Asian Winter Games, the first being 29 years ago. The city was filled with excitement and pride as athletes from all over Asia came to compete.
