Hey everyone! Let’s talk about an amazing skater named Jang Sung-woo from South Korea.
He just won the gold medal in the men’s 1,000-meter short track speed skating at the 9th Asian Winter Games!
The games were held in Harbin, a city in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, also known as the “Ice City” because of its super cold weather and awesome ice festivals! Even though it was freezing, Jang said he really enjoyed competing there. Isn’t that cool?
But that’s not all! The International Skating Union (ISU) World Short Track Speed Skating Championships are coming up in Beijing in mid-March. Jang is super excited to participate in this big event. He can’t wait to skate his heart out again!
And guess what? He’s also dreaming of skating in the Winter Olympic Games in 2026, which will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in Italy! We wish him the best of luck on his journey to the Olympics!
Do you love skating or have you ever tried it? Maybe one day you’ll be the next skating champion! Keep reaching for your dreams!
