🎆 Wow! Did you see the amazing fireworks in Harbin, China’s famous “Ice City”? On Friday evening, February 7, 2025, the skies over Harbin lit up with brilliant colors to celebrate the opening of the 9th Asian Winter Games! ❄️
Over 1,200 athletes from 34 countries and regions across Asia have gathered in Harbin to compete in thrilling ice and snow sports. ⛸️🏂 From figure skating and ice hockey to snowboarding and skiing, there’s so much excitement ahead!
Harbin: The Dreamy Winter Wonderland
Harbin, located in the northeast of China, is famous for its icy winters and incredible ice sculptures. Every year, artists create huge castles and statues made entirely of ice! Can you imagine walking through a glowing ice palace? 🏰✨
And now, this magical city is hosting the Asian Winter Games for the second time! The first time was back in 1996. It’s like a snowy dream come true! ❄️
Uniting Asia Through Sports
The theme of the opening ceremony was “Dream of Winter, Love among Asia.” It’s all about bringing people together through sports and friendship. 🌏❤️ Athletes will compete in Harbin for ice events and in Yabuli for snow events. Yabuli is a fantastic place with great ski slopes! ⛷️
