Hey there! 🤗 Have you ever thought about what happens when leaders of countries and sports come together? Well, on Friday, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Thomas Bach, the President of the International Olympic Committee (that’s the group that organizes the Olympics!).
They met in Harbin, a city in northeast China famous for its ice and snow festivals! ❄️⛷️ Why? Because the 9th Asian Winter Games are starting! These games are like the Winter Olympics but for Asian countries, and they’re super exciting!
Thomas Bach came to China to attend the opening ceremony of the games and to talk with President Xi about sports and maybe future events. Isn’t it cool how sports can bring people together from all over the world?
