Meet China’s Flagbearers for the Asian Winter Games!

Hey everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š Are you excited about the Asian Winter Games? ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽฟ It’s like the Olympics but for countries in Asia! This year, the opening ceremony is happening in Harbin, a super cool city in the northeast of China’s Heilongjiang Province. And guess what? China has just announced their flagbearers! ๐ŸŽ‰

Ning Zhongyan is a super-fast speed skater! โ›ธ๏ธ He has made history several times. In December 2019, he became the first Chinese speed skater to win the men’s 1,500-meter gold medal at the International Skating Union (ISU) Speed Skating World Cup. He even broke the track record in Astana, Kazakhstan! ๐Ÿ… Then, two years later, he won the men’s 1,000-meter event at the ISU World Cup in Calgary, Canada, becoming the first Chinese man to win that race in any international competition! Isn’t that amazing? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Liu Mengting is an awesome freestyle skier! โ›ท๏ธ She first got on the podium at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Freestyle Ski World Cup in March 2024, winning a silver medal in the women’s big air event in Tignes, France. ๐Ÿฅˆ Then, in January, she took home the gold at the World Cup in Klagenfurt, Austria! ๐Ÿฅ‡ How cool is that?

The opening ceremony is on Friday, and we can’t wait to see Ning Zhongyan and Liu Mengting carrying the flag for China! ๐ŸŽŒ Let’s cheer them on and wish all the athletes the best of luck! Go team! ๐Ÿ’ช
