Chinese Paddlers Shine at Singapore Smash, Advance to Round of 16 πŸŽ‰

Hey there, table tennis fans! πŸ“ Exciting news from the Singapore Smash tournament! Chinese paddlers are making waves and moving forward to the Round of 16!

Lin Shidong, the second-seeded player from China, had a fantastic match! He defeated Simon Gauzy from France with scores of 11-5, 11-5, 6-11, 11-9. Now, Lin is advancing to face An Jae-hyun from South Korea in the next round.

Lin wasn’t just busy in singles. He teamed up with Wang Chuqin in men’s doubles, and they beat the local Singaporean pair, Clarence Chew and Josh Chua, winning in straight games! πŸ’ͺ

Lin also played mixed doubles with Kuai Man. Together, they swept past the fifth-seeded team from South Korea, Cho Dae-seong and Shin Yu-bin, in the quarterfinals! That’s a lot of table tennis in one day!

Another Chinese player, Xue Fei, caused an upset by beating Japan’s third seed, Tomokazu Harimoto, with scores of 11-6, 11-6, 6-11, 11-6. Great job, Xue! He will now face Alexis Lebrun from France next.

On the women’s side, the top seed Sun of China continued her unstoppable run! She won against Miyuu Kihara from Japan, with scores of 11-8, 11-7, 11-3. Sun will play Sofia Polcanova from Austria in the next round.

He Zhuojia from China also moved forward after beating Japan’s sixth seed, Miwa Harimoto, 11-4, 11-4, 11-9. She will face Shin of South Korea next!
