Inside, there are thousands of sacred texts, including famous collections like the Zhonghua Dazangjing (Tripitaka Sinica) and the Qianlong Dazangjing (Dragon Canon).
Did you know? The original pavilion was built way back during the Yuan Dynasty (that’s around 1341-1368)! 🏰 Although it was rebuilt between 1992 and 1993, it still holds the amazing history and wisdom of the past.
The Guanyin Hall 🙏
When our hero struggles with his martial arts training, an old monk advises him to visit the Guanyin Hall for inspiration. So, what’s inside this mysterious hall?
Built in the early Qing Dynasty (around 1644-1911), the Guanyin Hall houses a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva, a symbol of compassion and kindness. 💖 The walls are decorated with incredible murals that tell important stories.
One of the murals shows the legendary tale of the thirteen Shaolin monks rescuing the Tang Emperor! 😲 This story even inspired the famous 1982 film “Shaolin Temple”.
In the short film, our main character sits in front of another mural showing ancient monks practicing martial arts with different weapons. As he looks at the mural, he finds the inspiration he needs to make a breakthrough! 🌟
