In Macao, the streets turned into a colorful parade on the first day of the Year of the Snake. A gigantic golden dragon, as long as two soccer fields (238 meters!), danced through the city. Alongside it were 18 lively lions, leaping and spinning to the beat of drums. 🥁
Characters like the God of Wealth and the friendly zodiac snake joined in, spreading good luck and happiness. Even Mak Mak, Macao’s cute tourism mascot, was there to celebrate! 😊
Hong Kong’s Spectacular Parade 🎭
Hong Kong welcomed the new year with a fantastic parade featuring nine huge floats and performers from all over the world! 🌍
There were street dancers showing off cool moves, folk musicians playing traditional tunes, and acrobats doing jaw-dropping tricks! 🤸♂️ The floats were decorated with giant pandas 🐼, famous Hong Kong milk tea 🧋, and other fun symbols. It was a true celebration of culture and joy!
Fireworks Across the Sea 🎇
On Wednesday night, the skies above Xiamen, a city on the Chinese mainland, and Kinmen, a small island near Taiwan, burst into colors! 🌠 At exactly 8 p.m., nearly 50,000 fireworks lit up the sky for a spectacular 30-minute show.
This special fireworks display has been a beloved tradition since 1987, symbolizing the close bonds between people across the Taiwan Strait. It was a breathtaking sight that brought smiles to everyone’s faces! 😄
