Hey everyone! Guess what? The 2025 “Happy Chinese New Year” global launch ceremony and gala just lit up Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! 🇲🇾🎆
The event was super exciting, with amazing performances by actors from Malaysia and China. Even Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and China’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Sun Yeli were there! They gave speeches and everything. 🗣️
At the start, special guests from both countries did the “dotting of the lion’s eyes” ritual. 🦁👀 Ever seen a lion dance? It’s so cool! This ritual brings the lion to life and brings good luck for the new year.
Artists from all over the world performed together, including from Britain, France, the United States, New Zealand, Egypt, Cambodia, and Kazakhstan! 🌍 They showed off the wonderful traditions of the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival. It felt like one big global party! 🎊
Did you know? The “Happy Chinese New Year” celebrations have been happening every year for 25 years! 🎉 And the 2025 Chinese New Year will be extra special because it’s the first one since the festival was added to UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity! 🏆
This year, there will be nearly 500 different performances and exhibitions in over 100 countries and regions around the world. Maybe there’s one near you! Wouldn’t that be fun? 🎭
