Hey everyone! ๐ Guess what? Chinese skiing superstar Qi Guangpu just flew his way to a gold medal at the FIS Aerial World Cup in Lac-Beauport, Canada! ๐ฅโท๏ธ
On a chilly Saturday, Qi, who is 34 years old, showed amazing skills in the air. He scored a whopping 124.00 points! That’s like getting an A+ on a super hard test! ๐คฉ
“I just kept working and working,” Qi said with a big smile. “This year I came back here and got the gold medal. I am very happy.”
It wasn’t an easy day. Five athletes from China made it to the men’s final, but only Qi and his teammate Li Xinpeng moved on to the next round. Still, Qi soared above everyone else!
Coming in second was Canada’s own Lewis Irving with 102.50 points. He did a great job too! ๐จ๐ฆ Close behind was Christopher Lillis from the United States, scoring 85.40 points. ๐บ๐ธ
In the women’s event, 35-year-old Laura Peel from Australia took the gold with 117.19 points. ๐ฅ It’s her first World Cup win since March 2023! Way to go, Laura! ๐ฆ๐บ
China’s Chen Meiting grabbed the silver with 102.31 points, and last week’s winner, Xu Mengtao of China, got the bronze with 92.72 points. ๐ฅ๐ฅ
