The Dragons started strong, with James Thompson dominating the court. They led 21-10 halfway through the first quarter! But the Pioneers didn’t give up. Lin Ting-Chien from Tianjin scored four three-pointers (also called “triples” ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€) in the first quarter alone, helping his team take the lead.

By the end of the first quarter, Thompson and Li Chengyao teamed up to score seven points, putting the Dragons back in the lead at 30-27.

A Close Battle

The second quarter was super close! Thompson and Franklin Jackson kept scoring for the Dragons, while Lin, Zheng Haoran, and Marcus LoVett Jr. scored double-digit points for the Pioneers. At halftime, the Dragons were ahead by just one point at 52-51. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

The Dragons Take Off

In the third quarter, the Pioneers’ offense slowed down. After Lin tied the score at 66-66, the Pioneers only made one more field goal (a basket scored during normal play). The Dragons outscored them 11-2, entering the final quarter with a nine-point lead at 77-68.

The Dragons continued to increase their lead, at one point being ahead by 14 points! ๐Ÿ‰ Even though Zheng and Lin made three three-pointers in the last 30 seconds for the Pioneers, it wasn’t enough. The Dragons secured their victory, ending their losing streak!

In another game, the Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin beat the Ningbo Rockets 112-102 in Jinan, east China’s Shandong Province. The Rockets have now lost ten games in a row. ๐Ÿ˜“

Ningbo’s American player Ronald March was amazing, scoring a season-high 60 points! He made 7 out of 18 three-pointers and 13 out of 19 free throws. Even with his incredible performance, the Rockets couldn’t catch up.

With this win, Shandong moved up to second place in the league, just behind the Guangsha Lions.
