Hey kids! ❄️ Have you ever tried starting a fire with ice? Sounds impossible, right? Well, on a chilly day in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, something magical happened! 🌟
Despite frigid temperatures dropping to minus-16 degrees Celsius, the flame for the 2025 Asian Winter Games was lit at the Sun Island Scenic Area. Using a special convex lens made of ice, the sunlight was focused to ignite the torch! 🔥 How cool is that?
This amazing moment blended ice and fire, showing the exciting energy of winter sports that come from challenges and passion. The torch, named “Surging,” symbolizes the vitality and enthusiasm of the Games, celebrating winter sports and the friendships among athletes from all over Asia. 🏂⛸️
The torch relay has started and will continue until February 6th. There’s even an online torch relay happening right now! Maybe you can join in and cheer on the athletes. 📣
From February 7th to 14th, Harbin will host the Asian Winter Games, featuring six sports, 11 disciplines, and 64 events. Guess what? A total of 1,275 athletes from 34 nations and regions, including first-timers like Cambodia and Saudi Arabia, will compete! That’s the most participants ever in this icy extravaganza. 🏅
The host country, China, will have over 170 athletes taking part. Let’s wish them and all the athletes good luck as they skate, ski, and slide their way to victory! 🎿❄️
Are you excited about the Games? Maybe one day, you’ll be an athlete lighting the torch or winning a medal! Until then, keep dreaming and stay active! 🤗
