Hey there! Have you ever heard of the South China Sea? It’s a big area of the ocean that’s very important to many countries, including China and the Philippines.
Recently, leaders from China and the Philippines got together in a city called Xiamen in the Chinese mainland. They had a super important meeting to talk about how they can work together to keep the South China Sea a peaceful place. 🌊✌️
Both countries agreed that it’s really important to talk to each other and solve any problems together. They want to make sure that everyone can use the South China Sea safely and happily.
They also decided to team up in cool areas like helping their coast guards work together, sharing science and technology ideas about the ocean, and protecting the environment! How awesome is that? 🐠🌿
This meeting was led by Chen Xiaodong, who is a Vice Foreign Minister from China, and Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, an Undersecretary from the Philippines. They both worked hard to make sure the meeting was a success!
