Panchen Rinpoche Prays for Earthquake Victims in Xizang
Hey there! Have you heard about the big earthquake that happened in Xizang (also known as Tibet)? An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 struck Dingri County, and it was really strong. Sadly, at least 126 people lost their lives.
Panchen Rinpoche, who is a very important leader in Tibetan Buddhism, wanted to help. He and many monks from the Tashilhunpo Monastery gathered to pray for the people affected by the earthquake. They chanted scriptures and wished for everyone to recover quickly and stay safe from any more harm.
But that’s not all! Panchen Rinpoche and about 900 monks also donated money to help those who are in need after the disaster. Isn’t that amazing? They showed kindness and care for others during this tough time.
Panchen Rinpoche is not only a religious leader but also plays a role in China’s government. He is a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, which is a group that helps advise on important matters in the country. He is also the vice president of the Buddhist Association of China.
It’s really heartwarming to see people come together to help others. Maybe you can think of ways to help people in need too! 😊
