In the thrilling men’s final, 25-year-old Yang started strong with a fantastic trick called the front double cork 1800 ๐, scoring 86.00 points. But he was still behind Japan’s Taiga Hasegawa, the reigning champion. ๐ฏ๐ต
Everything changed in the last round! Yang pulled off an incredible backside 1980 ๐ฏ, earning a whopping 96.50 points! This sky-high score pushed him past Hasegawa by just 2.25 points. Talk about a close finish! ๐ฎ
This victory marks Yang’s first time at the top of the World Cup podium ๐ฅ, and his second time ever standing on it after a third-place finish in Beijing not long ago.
But that’s not all! In the women’s final, Austria’s own Anna Gasser ๐, a double Olympic gold medalist, claimed her 10th World Cup Big Air victory! At 32, she became the oldest winner ever in FIS Snowboard Park & Pipe history. She said, “This one is very special.
