Resettlement in orderly manner in quake-hit Xizang

Community Helps After Big Earthquake in Xizang 🏔️❤️

Hi friends! A strong earthquake happened in Xizang Autonomous Region, southwest China, on Tuesday morning. It was a magnitude-6.8 earthquake, which means it was pretty powerful!

Around 61,500 people felt the shaking, and 47,500 of them had to move to safer places. But here’s the good news: everyone is coming together to help! 😊

Helpers set up 224 safe spots where people can stay. Since it’s super cold there—sometimes even colder than minus 10 degrees Celsius—they’re making sure everyone stays warm. They’ve put up over 12,700 tents, set up more than 1,500 stoves, and given out over 3,000 electric blankets!

They also brought 104 trucks full of fuel to keep everyone cozy. Mr. Hao Tao, who is helping coordinate everything, said, “We have enough supplies, and everyone has hot meals, clean water, and medical care if they need it.”

Isn’t it amazing how everyone is helping each other? It shows how strong and kind people can be! ❤️
