They invested a huge amount of money (that’s a lot of zeros! 💰) to build thousands of water projects. These projects help make sure people have clean water to drink and stay safe from floods. 🌊
In fact, they’ve carried out over 47,000 water projects! That’s like building a small city’s worth of water systems! 🏗️ These projects support national flood control and provide water supplies to many communities.
But that’s not all! To help people living in the countryside, China completed more than 20,000 rural water supply projects this year. This means over 100 million rural residents now have better access to clean and safe water. How awesome is that? 🚰
They’ve also been working on protecting the environment by reducing groundwater overuse and treating land affected by soil loss. They’ve reduced groundwater over-extraction by 31.9% compared to ten years ago and treated an extra 64,000 square kilometers of land. That’s an area bigger than some entire countries! 🌍🌱
