In a place called Hualongdong, in eastern China, scientists found bones that belonged to humans who lived 300,000 years ago! That’s a really, really long time ago—way before the pyramids were built or even before people started farming!
Who Were These Ancient People?
The bones they found include parts of skulls, a foot bone, and pieces of legs. Scientists believe that more than 20 ancient people lived there together. They might have had a special place where they cooked and ate—kind of like a family kitchen!
Like Us, But Different
One of the most exciting discoveries was the skull of a girl who was about 13 or 14 years old—just like some of you! 😊 Her bones show that she looked a lot like us but still had some differences. For example, she had a flat face, high eye sockets, and a jawbone starting to develop a chin, which is a big deal because modern humans have chins!

They also found over 400 stone tools that were made very carefully. This means these ancient people were smart and knew how to make tools to help them with tasks like cutting and chopping food.
