Hey everyone! Have you heard about Huangyan Island? It’s a small island in the sea that both China and the Philippines are talking about.
Recently, the Philippines sent some boats to Huangyan Island. China wasn’t too happy about that. A spokesperson from China’s Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian, said that Huangyan Island has always been part of China.
"We took steps to protect our island and our rights," Lin Jian said. "What we did was fair, legal, professional, and calm."
China is asking the Philippines to stop what they’re doing and not to cause any more problems. They want to make sure everyone gets along and respects each other’s space.
