There’s something called the Purchasing Managers’ Index, or PMI for short. It’s a number that tells us how well factories are doing. If the PMI is above 50, it means things are growing. If it’s below 50, it means things are slowing down.
In June, China’s manufacturing PMI was 49.7. That’s up from May and shows things are getting better! Even though it’s just below 50, it’s still a good sign because it’s higher than before.

Not only are factories making more stuff, but more people are ordering products too! The new orders index went up to 50.2, which means more businesses want things made.
Out of 21 different industries, 11 are growing. That’s more than half! 🏭

Zhao Qinghe, a senior expert, says that factories are speeding up, and people want more products. He Hui, another expert, mentions that with new policies, both making things and buying things are improving.

It’s not just factories. Building and construction are also picking up! The construction index jumped to 52.8. That means more buildings and roads are being built.
