U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel want to work together. They announced that President Donald Trump has said “Yes!” ✅ to Nippon Steel buying U.S. Steel, but with some conditions.
Why Were There Conditions?
Before, former President Joe Biden had said “No” ❌ to this deal. But now, with President Trump’s approval, the deal can happen if certain rules are followed.
What Are the Conditions?
Nippon Steel will invest about $11 billion 💰 in the U.S. by 2028! Also, the U.S. government will have a “golden share.” 🏅 What’s that? It means they get a special share that lets them have a say in big decisions to keep the country safe. 🛡️

Back in January, after the deal was first blocked, the two companies were so eager to work together that they went to court ⚖️ to try and change the decision!
