Hey everyone! Guess what? China and the United States are planning to have an important meeting in Switzerland! π¨π³πΊπΈ
The U.S. asked China to talk about big topics like trade and tariffs (tariffs are taxes on things bought from other countries). China agreed to meet but wants to make sure they stand by their principles.
A spokesperson from the Chinese Embassy said, “The U.S. has reached out to us, hoping to discuss issues like tariffs. After thinking it over, we agreed to meet. But remember, the talks were requested by the U.S.”
China is not happy about some of the tariffs the U.S. has placed. They want to protect their rights and make sure everything is fair, according to the World Trade Organization rules.
The embassy also said that the trade disputes started because of actions by the U.S., and they hope the U.S. will stop using threats and pressure. “If the U.S. truly wants to solve the problem by talking, they should stop threatening us and have discussions based on equality and respect,” the spokesperson added.
China emphasizes that they won’t give up their principles just to make an agreement. They want any deal to be fair and just.
Let’s hope both countries can work things out! ππ€
