Hey there! Did you hear about the recent news between China and the United States?
On Wednesday, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the U.S. to stop using pressure and threats over trade issues. Instead, China wants to have friendly talks to solve the problem. π¨π³π€πΊπΈ
The day before, the White House announced that China could face up to a 245% tariff (which is like a big tax) on goods they sell to the U.S. because of what they called “retaliatory actions.” The U.S. Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said, “The ball is in China’s court,” meaning it’s up to China to decide what happens next.
In response, Lin Jian, a spokesperson from China, reminded everyone that trade wars don’t have winners. He said, “China does not want to fight these wars but is not scared of them.” π‘οΈ
Lin Jian explained that the trade issues started with the U.S., and China’s actions are to protect its rights and fairness in international trade. He also said that if the U.S. really wants to fix the problem, they should stop using extreme pressure and threats. Instead, they should talk with China respectfully and equally, so both countries can benefit. π
It’s important for countries to work together and solve problems through conversations, just like how we solve disagreements with our friends! What do you think about this situation?
