Universities Can’t Play Together? What’s Happening Between Taiwan and the Chinese Mainland ๐ค
Hey there, friends! Have you ever worked on a school project with kids from another school? It’s fun to make new friends and learn new things, right? ๐ Well, recently, something happened that made many people a bit sad.
The Taiwan authorities (that’s the group of people who make decisions in Taiwan) told universities in Taiwan that they can’t work with some big universities on the Chinese mainland anymore. ๐ฎ
These universities, like Beihang University and Beijing Institute of Technology, are really cool places where students learn about science and engineering! ๐ They have helped invent amazing things that make our lives better.
The Chinese mainland is upset because they think stopping students and teachers from working together is not nice. They believe sharing knowledge helps everyone grow! ๐ฑ
Imagine if your teacher said you couldn’t talk to kids from another class or share ideas with them. It would feel unfair, wouldn’t it?
A spokesperson from the Chinese mainland said, “We want to share our awesome education with students from Taiwan, and our universities always welcome friends who love learning!” ๐
Many people think that working together is better than staying apart. Learning and making friends should have no boundaries! ๐
What do you think? Should schools be allowed to work together and share ideas? Let us know! ๐ก
