World should strive for multilateralism: Former EU Council President video poster

Let’s Open Up and Share: Former EU Leader Talks About Fair Trade! ๐ŸŒ

Hey everyone! Have you ever shared your toys with your friends so that everyone can have fun? ๐Ÿ˜Š Well, countries can do that too!

Recently, Herman Van Rompuy, who used to be the president of the European Council (that’s kind of like being a team captain for the European Union!), talked about how the European Union (EU) and China can be better friends.

He said there’s something called a “trade deficit” between the EU and China. This means the EU buys more things from China than China buys from the EU. It’s like when you always give your friend snacks, but they don’t share theirs with you!

Mr. Van Rompuy thinks the EU should open up its markets more and become better at making and selling things. He also says it’s important that China gets a fair chance to sell things in Europe, just like anyone else. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

He believes that even though it’s a tricky situation, it’s really an economic issue (that’s about money and business). Most importantly, he thinks the whole world should work together, like one big team, and have open markets where everyone can trade fairly. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค—

Isn’t it great when everyone shares and plays fair? That’s what Mr. Van Rompuy hopes for all the countries in the world!
