Hey there! Did you know that on New Year’s Day, China is expecting a whopping 11.5 million people to travel by train? That’s like almost the entire population of Belgium hopping on trains in a single day!

To make sure everyone gets to where they’re going, the railway companies are adding extra trains, making routes faster, and boosting safety measures. They’ve added 342 more trains, bringing the total number running on that day to 10,427. That’s a lot of trains!

This busy time is not just about the New Yearโ€”it kicks off a special season called the Spring Festival travel rush, or chunyun (pronounced “choon-yoon”). It’s when millions of people in China travel to see their families and celebrate the Spring Festival, which is the most important traditional holiday in China.

This year, the Spring Festival falls on January 29. The travel rush starts on January 14 and goes all the way to February 22. That means lots of people will be on the move for over a month, heading home for reunions, delicious food, and festive fun!

If you’re planning to travel during this time, tickets are already on sale. So, make sure to grab yours early! Safe travels and Happy New Year! ๐Ÿฅณ
