Hungarian FM says tariffs on Chinese EVs harmful to EU

Hungary Says EU Tariffs on Chinese Electric Cars Could Hurt Europe

Hey there! Did you know that electric cars are super important for our planet’s future? 🌍 But there’s some news about them in Europe.

Recently, the European Union (EU) decided to put extra taxes, called tariffs, on electric cars made in China. But Hungary’s Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, thinks this is a bad idea!

He said that these tariffs could harm the EU’s economy. That’s like saying it might make things tougher for everyone living in Europe.

Mr. Szijjarto also pointed out that not many countries in the EU agreed with these tariffs. In fact, only 10 out of 27 countries supported it. That’s less than half!

Hungary wants to work together with China. They have lots of Chinese companies investing in their country, and they believe cooperation is better than putting up barriers.

Why does this matter? Well, if countries work together, they can make better, more affordable electric cars for everyone! 🚗⚡

So, Hungary is asking the EU to think again about these tariffs. They believe that teamwork makes the dream work! 🤝
