Growing up in Turpan, a city in northwestern China, Gulbakram lived right next to the Jiaohe Ruins. These ruins are what’s left of an ancient city that was once bustling with life!
Following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather, Gulbakram decided to become a cultural relics guardian. This means she helps protect and preserve the Jiaohe Ruins so that people can learn about the past.
After studying history and heritage protection at university, she returned home to take care of the ruins. Now, she spends her days helping visitors discover the mysteries of this incredible place. 🕵️♀️
“I want to make sure that future generations can see and learn from these amazing ruins,” says Gulbakram. “It’s like being a time traveler!”
Thanks to Gulbakram and her family, the Jiaohe Ruins remain a window into ancient times. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll visit and see them for yourself!
