U.S. Hawaii volcano spews 80-meter lava fountains in dramatic eruption

Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano Erupts with Spectacular Lava Fountains!

Hey everyone! Have you heard about the amazing eruption of the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii? 🌋 It’s super exciting and a great chance to learn about volcanoes!

What’s Happening?
Early Monday, Kilauea Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, started erupting on Hawaii’s Big Island. It filled its crater with glowing molten rock and sent huge fountains of lava soaring up to 80 meters high. That’s like stacking about 20 cars on top of each other! 🚗🚗🚗

Lava Bombs! 💥
The volcano also shot out what’s called “lava bombs.” These are big pieces of molten rock, wider than 6 centimeters (about the size of a baseball), that blast out during an eruption. Imagine fiery rocks flying through the air! How cool is that?

What’s the Big Deal?
While this might look awesome, the eruption also released gases like sulfur dioxide and tiny volcanic particles up to 2,440 meters into the sky. These can be harmful if you’re too close, so the area is closed off to keep everyone safe.

Learn More About Volcanoes!
Volcanoes like Kilauea are vents in the Earth’s surface where molten rock, called magma, comes out. When it reaches the surface, it’s called lava. Studying volcanoes helps scientists understand how our planet works. Maybe you’ll be a volcanologist one day! 🔬

Isn’t nature incredible? Stay curious and keep exploring the wonders of our world! 🌍
