On Thursday, Peng Liyuan went to the Macau Museum and met with students. She encouraged them to discover more about Chinese culture and use that knowledge to make their homeland even better. How awesome is that?
Exploring the Macau Museum
During her visit, Peng checked out amazing cultural relics and learned about how Macao has changed over time. She saw how Chinese and Western cultures blend together in Macao’s buildings, industries, and daily life.
She even joined in on some fun activities! Peng made almond cookies 🍪, a yummy local treat, and talked with artisans who paint tiles and carve wood.
Celebrating Macao’s Return to China
Peng Liyuan was in Macao with President Xi Jinping to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Macao returning to China. That’s a big milestone! 🎉

In December 2021, about 170 students from Macao joined a space class connected to China’s space station! 🚀 They got to ask questions to real astronauts. How exciting is that?

There’s even a China-Portugal Joint Laboratory of Cultural Heritage Conservation Science, which helps protect cultural sites along the Maritime Silk Road.
