Prosecutors say Yoon defied summon order in martial law probe

South Korean President Misses Important Meeting with Investigators

Hi there! Did you hear about what happened in South Korea? Their president, Yoon Suk-yeol, was supposed to meet with important investigators on Sunday, but he didn’t come!

The investigators, called prosecutors, are looking into something serious. President Yoon tried to put the country under martial law not long ago. Do you know what martial law is? It’s when the military takes control of everything, and normal laws don’t work the same way. It’s usually only used in really big emergencies.

Many people thought this was a bad idea. The country’s parliament, called the National Assembly, voted to impeach President Yoon. That means they decided he should not be president anymore because they think he did something wrong.

The prosecutors sent President Yoon a letter, called a summons, asking him to come and answer some questions. But he didn’t show up! Now, they are planning to send him another letter.

They are also investigating other military leaders to see if they did anything wrong. It’s a big deal in South Korea right now.

What do you think about this? It’s important for leaders to follow the rules, just like everyone else! 😊
