Hey there, future space explorers! π Did you hear the big news? China has just started an international space club called the International Deep Space Exploration Association (IDSEA). And guess what? It’s all about exploring the universe together with other countries! π
This amazing club is based in a city called Hefei, in the Chinese mainland’s Anhui Province. The goal? To help scientists from all over the world, especially from developing countries, learn more about deep-space exploration. That means studying the moon, planets like Mars, and even asteroids! πͺπ
Wu Weiren, the chief designer of China’s lunar exploration program, said they hope to have 500 international research members and 100,000 individual scientist members in the next ten years! That’s a lot of space fans! π
But why is this so important? Well, exploring deep space is super hard and usually only a few countries can do it. It needs lots of money, special technology, and really smart people. But with IDSEA, the idea is to share knowledge and make it possible for more countries to join in the space fun! π
“We want to help developing countries get involved in space exploration,” said Wang Zhongmin, who helps run the international cooperation part of the club. “By starting small programs, like teaching how to build tiny satellites called CubeSats, we can make space technology less out-of-reach for them.” π°οΈ
People from other countries are super excited, too! Simone Dell’Agnello from Italy said, “It’s great for everyone to work together.” And Ahmet Hamdi Takan from TΓΌrkiye said that with this club, scientists around the world can know about new and future space missions. ππ€
Even though China started exploring outer space later than some other countries, they’ve made huge progress! They even have lunar samples (that’s moon rocks and dust!) from their Chang’e-5 mission, and they’re sharing them with scientists from places like France, Germany, and the United States. ππ¬
In a few years, around 2028, China plans to send a mission called Tianwen-3 to Mars to bring back samples. They want to look for signs of life on the red planet! How cool is that? πΈ
This new space club shows that exploring space isn’t just about one countryβitβs about the whole world working together to discover amazing things in our universe. So maybe one day, you’ll be part of this big space adventure, too! π
