Hey tennis fans! 🎾
China’s star players Yuan Yue and Zhang Zhizhen have finished their journey at the Indian Wells tennis tournament.
Yuan Yue, ranked world No. 68, faced Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska on Thursday. It was a tough match! Yuan had some struggles with her serves, winning only 50% of her service points. She also converted just two out of six break points. In the end, Yastremska won the match 6-2, 6-4.
Yastremska will move on to play Ons Jabeur from Tunisia, who is ranked world No. 32.
In the men’s matches, Zhang Zhizhen, world No. 51, started strong against Canada’s Gabriel Diallo. He won the first set 6-2! But then, things got tricky. 😬 The match was affected by rain, and in the end, Zhang lost 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(7). It was a really close game!
Even though Zhang hit 11 aces and made more winners, Diallo played very well when it mattered most. Diallo will next face Arthur Fils from France.
Although Yuan and Zhang didn’t get the wins they hoped for, they played hard, and we can’t wait to see them back on the court soon! 🎾💪
