On Thursday, China’s President, Xi Jinping (pronounced “Shee Jin-ping”), had an important meeting. He met with a group of special people called “national political advisors” at a big yearly event.
What’s a National Political Advisor?
Great question! Think of national political advisors like wise adults who give advice to leaders on how to make the country better. They come from different walks of life, like education, science, and the arts.
The Big Meeting
The meeting was part of the third session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Phew, that’s a long name! Let’s just call it the CPPCC for short.
At this meeting, President Xi sat down with advisors from groups like the China Democratic League and the China Association for Promoting Democracy. He listened to their ideas and suggestions.
