A Call for Peace in Sudan
Hey everyone! 🌟 Have you ever heard of Sudan? It’s a country in Africa where lots of amazing people live. But right now, things are really tough there.
The African Union, which is like a big team of all the countries in Africa working together, is asking for something very important: peace in Sudan.
What’s Happening in Sudan?
Since April 2023, there has been fighting between two groups: the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). This conflict has made life very hard for millions of people.
Sadly, more than 28,700 people have lost their lives, and over 14 million people have had to leave their homes. That’s like if everyone in a big city had to move because it wasn’t safe anymore!
Why Is Peace So Important?
Peace means people can go to school, play with friends, and families can live safely. Without peace, it’s hard for kids to learn and grow, and for communities to thrive.
Mr. Bankole Adeoye, a leader from the African Union, said, “We need to stop the bloodshed.” He wants both sides to agree to stop fighting and start talking.
