Have you ever thought about how countries make friends just like we do? ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Recently, Chinese Ambassador to Britain, Zheng Zeguang, talked about this at a special event called the “Icebreakers” Chinese New Year Dinner.

Ambassador Zheng said that China and the UK should work together with an “icebreaking” spirit. โ„๏ธ But what does that mean? Just like when you break the ice with someone new to become friends, countries can do the same! By talking and working together, they can solve problems and make the world a better place.

He mentioned that over the past months, China and the UK have made some progress in their relationship. That’s great news! Now, they should keep going and build on that momentum.

The Ambassador hopes that China and the UK can cooperate in cool areas like new energy (like solar and wind power ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ’จ), artificial intelligence (robots and smart computers ๐Ÿค–), science and technology, trade, and education. Imagine all the amazing things that could happen if they team up!

He also said it’s important for the two countries to respect each other and handle any disagreements properly. Just like with friends, sometimes countries don’t see eye to eye, but with respect and understanding, they can work things out.

Did you know that in 1954, a man named Jack Perry led a group of 48 British businesspeople on a trip to Beijing? This was one of the first times modern-day trade started between China and the UK! They were called the “Icebreakers” because they broke the ice between the two countries. ๐ŸงŠ๐Ÿšข

Ambassador Zheng believes that by remembering this “icebreaking” spirit, China and the UK can continue to be good friends and make the future bright for everyone. ๐ŸŽ‰
