Powerful Earthquake Shakes Xizang 😮
On Tuesday morning at 9:05 a.m., a strong earthquake hit the region of Xizang in China. The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.8, which is quite powerful and can cause a lot of shaking!
Sadly, 32 people have lost their lives, and 38 others were injured. Our hearts go out to all the families affected ❤️.
In Dingri County and nearby areas, many buildings were damaged or even collapsed. People shared videos on social media showing broken rooftops and shattered windows.
The Chinese government is working hard to help those in need. They have sent teams to rescue people and provide support. The Western Theater Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army dispatched 50 personnel to assist with rescue operations.
The earthquake was so strong that people felt it in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, which is about 400 kilometers away! That’s like feeling shaking from a city hundreds of miles away.
